Buensalido Architects | Smiles By Dr. Cecile Dental Clinic

Smiles By Dr Cecile was an existing dental clinic that was going through a re-branding as they wanted to give it a ‘re-birth’ as a premiere and first aesthetic dental clinic in the Philippines.  Typical dental clinic designs would be conservative, ubiquitous, and very clinical. It thus called for a design that is to be the complete opposite  of these typical clinic  design traits – avantgarde, modern, unique and fresh, and vogue-ish.
The concept stems from the idea of “morphologies”, translated through profession, perception, and surfaces
Profession – aside from regular dental services, the dental profession is “morphing” into one that integrates aesthetic dentistry.
Perception – the clinic aims to “morph” people’s perception of clinics that have a boring hospital-like ambiance into one that is fashion forward and cool.
Surfaces – the spaces were designed with its cross-sections as a starting point. Cross sections were shaped at every 1-meter segment of the entire space, and were then connected to each other, forming a continuous surface that weld walls, ceiling, and flooring into one amorphous shape, mimicing the developmental behavior of a typical tooth as well.
